Picnic at the Park

Sorry that I didn't blog last night. It was after midnight before I got home and was just too tired to think straight!  I'll post now and then again tonight!

The day was a busy one (I know, I know, I say that a lot!).  The kids all had school and I spent the morning working on laundry and scrapping a few layouts.  After we got my Kindergartener off to school (afternoon session), hubby took me out to lunch!  I then did a little shopping for clothes for our pictures on friday.

After I picked everyone up from school, we took Abby to her vision therapy session.  While she was there, we ran to the store and bought some picnic supplies.  Because our family has to eat gluten free, picnics are a rather different looking for us!  We usually get 2 of the rotessiere chickens, a bag of corn chips, fresh salsa and cheese.  Yummy!

After picking up Abby, we went to a super cute park close by.  It is all wooden and built like a big maze with tons of activities for the kids.  The weather was perfect.  A cool Fall evening, with all the changing leaves and as the sun went down-I swear it was complete perfection.

We got back home a little after 7 and I dropped everyone off, except Chipper.  I took Chipper to his voice lesson and headed to Salt Lake City (about 40 minutes away) to meet with my dear friend, Eileen!  She and I met through digiland almost 4 years ago and she moved to this area last year.  We get together monthly for a girl's night out.  We usually have a few more digifriends meet us, as well, but they both had sick families.  So, it was just she and I, and we enjoyed the 2nd Twilight movie.  It was my first time seeing it.  I know-that makes me way in the minority.  I've only read the first book, and I'll be honest in saying that I wasn't all that impressed.  But I will admit that I quite enjoyed the movie!

Today, I'm headed off to Lagoon (an amusement park) with my son Mitchell and Sam.  I'm taking Mitchell as his reward for going a year without soda.  And I'm taking Sam because I don't want to leave him home with  my oldest and the other kids for that long.  He's a bit of a handful to babysit!  All the kids are out on fall break, and Chipper is watching my other kids, but I figured it might be nice to just take Sam.  Plus, the last time we went to Disneyland, he was barely 4 years old and it was a total nightmare.  He had one meltdown after another and standing in line was complete chaos.  I'm hoping to see some positive signs today and where I'll really only have to focus on him, it should be a good chance to see how he'll do.  He's very excited.  He calls it Disneyland and can't wait!  Mitchell is excited too and loves all the big rides that I'm way too scared to go on!  Another perk of having Sam with me, is that no one will look at me strange if I'm riding the kiddie rides!!

My freebie for today is a siggy template.  I'm not sure if there is much demand for these, but I thought I would throw it out there, all the same!  I know for me, I love using siggy's in the digiland forums, but I sometimes struggle with knowing where to start.  A basic template gives me a good basis.  Also, this is sized to fit the guidelines at most place or you can resize if needed!

Enjoy!  And feel free to leave me a comment if you want to see more siggy templates!  Have a great day!
