This is a great recipe, because it is super easy to make gluten free. If you have friends that don't eat gluten or kids in your child's class that are gluten free-this is a great recipe! The only ingredient that you have to make an exception with is the oats. Regular oats are not considered gluten free because they are cross grown and processed with wheat-making them contaminated. Some people who are gluten sensitive still eat regular oats, but most don't. Most buy oats that were grown and processed in a safe environment so there is no cross-contamination. These gluten free oats are a bit more expensive-but so worth it!
If you don't need to worry about the oats-then any regular oats will work for this. If you are wanting to make these for a friend who is gluten free, you can find gluten free oats online at Amazon or from most health food stores. Bob Red Mill's gluten free oats are the most common ones!
