Happy 4th of July

I'm blogging this a day late, but things have been crazy here at my house!  I hope you all had a great holiday!  We sure did! I couldn't have asked for a better day!

We started off with our annual pancake breakfast. I made gluten free pancakes and home made cherry syrup.  To sweeten the syrup, I used raw, local honey and it so delicious! It's always great when something tastes just as good as the store stuff, but I know my kids aren't eating high fructose corn syrup!  Next, we added fresh blueberries and whipping cream! They were very "red, white and blue"!

After breakfast, we headed to a water park close to our house. We have an annual pass, so we've been going every day and spending about an hour and a half.  It's a great way to start any summer day!  Sam loves to swim and go on the slides and I find that from a sensory standpoint, it really does a lot to regulate him for the rest of the day!

We came home, ate lunch and cleaned up a bit. Sam was overly tired and everything was setting him off into tears.  I laid by him and he quickly fell asleep for a 3 hour nap!  The rest of us decided to follow suit and we rested and napped for the next 2 hours.

Then we played our new board game that we have gotten pretty addicted to!

It's a ton of fun and each game only lasts about an hour and a half! It's been a great way to connect with our teens and just visit and have fun while we play!

In the evening, we took a picnic and headed to a park in Provo. It was so beautiful!  It is up against the foothills, so we were able to find a great hill and lay out our blankets to catch the fireworks.  We ate our food, played on the playground and just hung out!  It was beautiful! As it got darker, we could see fireworks throughout the valley, being let off! Finally at 10:30, the big fireworks show from Stadium of Fire started going off!  It was well worth the wait and so fun!

We returned home with 3 very tired little ones!  As I pulled Noah from his car seat, as he was half asleep, he curled up in my neck and said, "that fireworks so fun"!  It was a great way to wrap up a very fun family day!

You should come down to Spanish Fork on the 24th for our free fireworks at the ballpark. It's always a great show and totally free! My kids love it every year :D
