Wow, today really got away from me too!  I'm so glad that school is now out for Christmas break!  I'm ready for a slower pace!

2004 was a really big year for our family and a lot happened that year, so that by Christmas, everything was quite different!  In January, I learned that I was expecting our 4th child.  In March of that year, we moved to the small town where I grew up (about 100 miles north of Las Vegas) and bought a home.  In May, my husband graduated from law school and he began studying for the bar.  In July, we spent a week in a hotel in Vegas while John took the Bar (it was a 4 day test).  In September, we welcomed our little Sam into our family!  In November, we learned that John had passed the Bar and was officially a lawyer!

So, Christmas of 2004 found us as a family of 6, living in a super small town in a house that had been built by my brother.  It just so happened that our heater went out that night, so I remember Christmas morning being oh, so cold!!!  We bundled up and did our best to stay warm, but I'll never forget unwrapping gifts and seeing our breath at the same time!

That year, we spent most of our Christmas money on turning a room in the basement into a play/reading room for the kids.  We had simple decorations and shelves and lots of books.  It was a fabulous room!  We hung their artwork on the walls and everything!

I remember that we ate Christmas dinner at my parents house and for the most part, enjoyed a very quiet day at home.  It was a very nice Christmas!

Today's freebie is a simple wordart:
