Grateful for Fall

I know that winter is coming, bringing snow and ice and dark days (which I love) but I also love the snippet of Fall that goes by way too quick!  I love the crisp air and all the vibrant colors!  I have always been fascinated by the beauty of Fall.  In my opinion, it is the most beautiful time of the year.  I love every season and enjoy many things about each time of the year, but Fall is so gorgeous!  It literally takes my breath away.

Most of my life, I didn't get to fully enjoy this season.  I grew up in southern Nevada where Fall meant a relief from the desert heat!  Often the leaves went from green to dark brown and fell off, without much in between.  And when I lived in Las Vegas, many trees didn't change at all!  Palm trees don't lose their leaves each year.

This is my fourth Fall in Northern Utah, and I just can't get enough.  I feel the same about snow, so you'll hear a lot about that as well!  So, today, in honor of the daily prompt, I am grateful for the changing seasons and most particularly, autumn!

Today's Prompt:  In my surroundings (physical), what am I most thankful for?

I also wanted to blog real quick about the events of yesterday.  Overall, it was a good day, but I was a little tired, which always makes the day seem a little longer!  Chipper's last performance was last night and I was able to go.  I loved it! He did such a great job!  Best of all, though, is all the friends he has made and how much fun he had.  He loves the adults he worked with, especially his amazing theatre teacher.  He was just beaming last night and a bit sad that it was all over.  As a parent, I'm so grateful for teachers and adults who give so much of their time and energy to be a postive influence on these kids!  It is a scary world, with all kinds of things that could draw him away.  He could be experimenting with drugs or getting too serious with a girl.  The fact that he spends all of his time and energy on something worthwhile and productive, is a great thing!

have you ever been in the north east and seen autumn there? I get homesick for the New England area every fall..they have some of the most awesome colors....I love in Colorado now and they brag about their Aspens changing....don't get me wrong they are a beautiful gold...but that is the only color...so if you ever get the chance to to be in the NE part of the good ole USA...you will not be disappointed
