Template Thursday with a Coupon!

Each time Facebook changes their look, it's an opportunity for designers to play!  Facebook Timeline's cover photo allows for lots of room to do different things.  Ramona took the opportunity to do a little playing too:

Facelift Vol. 1 is a template to help the rest of us play too!  Here's what I did using At This Moment Patterned Papers, At This Moment Solids, and At This Moment Clusters all by Memory Clips:

Now that I've showed off both my scrapbooking and Bento skills, it's your turn!  To help you out Ramona is offering you another coupon!  This code allows you to buy 2 templates, and get 1 pack FREE!  Use temp_thurs14 fast because expires on the 15th!

Template Thursday!

I don't know how Ramona does it but she releases just the template I need, right when I need it!  The directors of the preschool I went to are retiring this year so a scrapbook is being put together for them.  I went through an album they gave me when I was six and pulled out the pictures I thought were best for the page I wanted to provide for the book.  There are five pictures and Ramona released her Five Spot, Volume 1 templates just last week!

I'm a little sad that they are retiring because my daughter is going to go to the very same preschool this coming September!  Here's my page:
The kit I used is When It Rains by Memory Clips.

How about a coupon again this week?  Coupon code mc_tempblog will get you 15% off all Memory Clips template packs at BrownieScraps!

Template Thursday and a Coupon!

I think I've admitted before that I'm not much of a journaler.  I love the idea of it, but I'm just not good at getting my thoughts all down on paper.  Language Arts and English were definitely not my best subjects in my school days!  That said, I love these templates from last week.

Someday when I have a really good story to tell, I envision myself using one of these templates for one side of a double pager.  The other page would have the pics to go with the story.  How do you think you'd use these templates?

I've got a really great coupon to share with you this week.  It's for 20% off Memory Clips store at Brownie Scraps!  The code is template_123 and expires May 25th so use it fast!

Template Thursday and a Coupon!

Can you guess what template I used for this layout?

Hint:  It just came out last week and looks like this:

That's right, I used Minimal Style Vol. 1! I love these but you can see I didn't stick to what was on the template.  Just because Ramona called them Minimal doesn't mean you can't add to them!  I'm not much of a journaler so once I ran out of words I felt the bottom corner needed something.  Voila!  Another cluster and I'm happy with the layout!  You might also notice that I flipped it 180 degrees because that's just what worked better for the photo.  Had I left it as is, the cluster would have been competing too much with my little girl!

I've got a treat for you today.  I have a coupon code that you can use for 15% off.  Act fast though, it expires soon!  Use template3_blog to get 15% off at Memory Clips' store at Brownie Scraps.  It expires May 18th.

Template Thursdays

Do you like the look of clusters but just aren't sure how to do them?  I was a little intimidated by them last year when I was just starting to scrap.  But I've had great luck with templates to tiptoe into creating clusters on my layouts.  Mega Clusters, Vol. 1 by Memory Clips would be just perfect to try out some clusters.

Brownie Scraps has a ton of challenges going on at all experience levels.  I love challenges because they always make me stretch my skills just a little further.  There's something to be learned even doing the Level 1 challenges at Brownie Scraps!  Ramona's Level 1 - Challenge Two includes tutorials on using templates in Photoshop or in Pixlr just to get you started!

If you want to add to your template collection I've got a coupon for you for 15% off your order!  The code template2_blog expires May 11th.

Template Thursday

Hello!  It's time again to make a layout using one of Ramona's templates and change it up a bit.  Today, I decided to use TWO templates together to make my page.  I used Holiday Stacker Vol 1 and Holiday Cluster Vol 1

I wanted to do a page about my son blowing bubbles (one of his favorite things to do) and thought using some circles in the background would be great so I used #4 of the stackers and #1 of the clusters and viola:

You can always mix and match different templates to make them your own!  I also used Ramona's very versatile kit Love You to Pieces to make this layout.  Ramona has been generous enough to give all of the wonderful blog followers a 25% off coupon for any Memory Clips template that you want to purchase good for TODAY ONLY.  Just enter coupon code: thurs_temp_3
Hope you have a fabulous Thursday!

Template Thursday

Hi!  It's Thursday and time to show you all how to make the most of your templates!  Ramona has some fabulous people on her creative team and one of those people is Amy.  Today I am showing you a page that Amy created using the third template in Minimal Style Vol. 1

In Amy's layout, she added another photo and decreased the size of the other photos and viola:

How cute is that!!  Just by adding the additional photo, she has made the template that much versatile to use for many more layouts.  She also used Ramona's new kit called Daddy's Boy which is a must have kit if you have boys!  Ramona has been generous enough to give you wonderful blog followers a 25% off a template pack of your choice by Memory Clips that can be used TODAY ONLY.  The coupon code is: thursday_temp
Hope you have a fabulous Thursday!

Template Thursday and Coupon

Today is Template Thursday and I am excited to share it with you.  Templates are so versatile...you can use them just like they are, flip them, add to them, take things out of them and so much more!  We are going to show you ways to make your templates go even further every Thursday.  I decided to use Ramona's template pack called Minimal Style Vol. 1 for today and use the template with the two photos.

I wanted to use four photos but still keep the style of the template, so I duplicated the items on the page and moved them around a little to suit my style and viola:
Not only did I use Memory Clips template Minimal Style Vol. 1 , but I also used Memory Clips Baby of Mine kit which was perfect for my son's baby page.  As you can see, templates are great to have in your digital scrapping stash because they are SO versatile and can be used over and over again and look different in each layout!  Ramona has been generous enough to give the blog readers a 25% off coupon code for any Memory Clips template pack you would like to purchase TODAY here at ScrapMatters using code thursday01.  The code is only good for today so don't delay and get your favorite template pack!
Hope you have a fabulous Thursday!

Scrapping New Years events

Welcome to Week Two of our project! I was so happy to get two submissions for last week's contest to scrap a Year in Review layout and link it in the comment section by Thursday of last week! I used random.org to do a drawing and lawyerlyn is the winner of a $3.00 coupon to my store!  Please email me at mcbyramona at yahoo dot com to claim your prize!!

Now, on to this week!  I want you to pick any New Year's Eve or New Year's Day from your past and scrap a layout of it!  I have a great example that Michelle, over at Scrap Matters did, using one of my template packs.

I love all her photos and her journaling!  It's a great page!  So, scrap up one of your New Year's celebrations and post a link in this thread, by Thursday night (11:59 pm pst) and I will do a drawing next weekend for another $3.00 coupon!

Scrap Your Story begins!

Well, as you can tell, I am so excited about my plan for 2012, I even did a full blog makeover!!  I can't wait!  I'm sure you have also noticed all the different plans out there for 365 or 52 or project life or one little word, etc.  I love all of these and they inspire me to scrap and set goals and record all the little things in life!  But I'll be honest, as wonderful as these projects are, I have one very small-looming problem...I have about 37 years of my life with little to no scrapping done on it!  I have done great for the past 3 years and captured most of the details of our family life. I have even printed these into books for my children to enjoy!  I plan to continue moving forward, year by year, scrapping in the moment!  But what to do with the 37 years that are missing?

And I'll be honest, for many of those years, I have limited photos or photos that are in boxes, needing to be scanned.  In my basement, I have boxes of journals and pictures and special things I've collected.  These are all gathering dust and if I died tomorrow, my children would have no idea what most of those things even meant!

Please tell me I'm not alone!  Raise your virtual hand, if you find yourself in the same predicament!  If you raised your hand, then this project is for you! I can't promise that all past years will be caught up, but we'll make a dent on it!  We won't be scrapping in chronological order because my 37 years might be your 5 or 15 or 20 or 45!  But if you follow along with the weekly prompts, you'll have quite a stockpile of layouts ready to print and be organized into albums!

Let's get started!  Shall we?  January is all about wrapping up the old and unwrapping the new!  This week, we are going to focus on a year in review-but not 2011!  That will come later!  The last week of every month, will be focused on scrapping the current-but the other three will deal with the past!  So, what I want you to do, is think of a year, any year in your past and scrap a Year in Review layout.  Try to think of something from every month of that year (if you have a picture for each one-Great--if not, no worries!).  We're not worrying about all the little details-just get the bullet points!  If you have energy to do more than one-go for it!!  This will not only be a great way to remember whatever year you choose, but it will serve as an outline when you get ready to scrap more about that year!

We're also going to have a weekly contest!   Once you have scrapped your layout(s), post the link in the comments of this post by Thursday night of this week.  I will do a drawing and the winner will receive a $3.00 coupon to my store!  How fun is that?  Scrap 1 layout and you have 1 chance!  Scrap 10 YIR layouts and you have 10 chances!!  I can't wait to see what you all do!

Here is a freebie to get you started:

I'm also beginning a blog schedule, so each day of the week will have a different theme!  Check in tomorrow for photo tips and inspiration!!
